Hooked on Chick-N-Sack: Former basketball player’s Wingz and seasonings bring the flavor
If you drop by Marble City Market on Thursday evenings, you’ll walk right into a party.
Classic R&B tunes will be flowing through the speakers, or maybe a DJ or a live musician will be setting the vibe as Chick-N-Sack hosts its weekly “Motown Thursdays.”
Chick-N-Sack is more than a chicken joint for owner James “Boo” Jackson, a retired professional basketball player and former club owner.

It’s a place that nurtures community.
“The good thing about Motown night, you have a lot of people bring in their parents, their mothers, their fathers. So, it's a great thing to see people smiling and enjoying themselves and having good wholesome fun,” Jackson told Knox News.
Though the music gets people jammin’, they’re coming in for the Chick-N-Sack chicken “wingz” which are spiced with Jackson’s own line of K-Town Krack seasonings.
